Jobs
Search and filter jobs on your phone, move them on the board, use saved lists, and open a job to edit it, call, or get directions.
The Jobs tab is the dashboard's Jobs page on your phone. Like the dashboard, it starts on jobs whose Contract Signed Date is this month. The app remembers your filters, sort, and layout on this phone.
Search and filter
Type in Search jobs, addresses, customers…. Every word has to match the job's name, number, status, type, street, city, ZIP, sales rep, or primary contact.
The chips under the search box:
- Filters opens every filter. It shows a count when filters are on, for example Filters · 2.
- Mine shows jobs where you're on Assigned To.
- One chip per stage, such as Lead or Sold. A stage chip selects every status in that stage.
In Filters:
- Job type limits the list to one workflow.
- Stage and Status pick statuses. Find one with Search statuses.
- People has Sales rep and Assigned to me.
- Date filters on a Date field, such as Created or a custom date like Contract Signed Date. Pick Between, Before, or After, then a period like This month, or Custom dates…. A period rolls forward, so a list saved with This month keeps meaning the current month.
- More filters tests any job field or custom field. Tap Add filter, pick a field, set the condition (such as Contains, Is any of, or Is empty), and tap Add filter. These are checked on JobNimbus, not on the phone, so they need a connection, and the list shows "Running your filters on the server…" while it loads.
The button at the bottom counts the matching jobs, for example Show 42 jobs. Tap it to close the sheet, or tap Clear all to start over. Each filter you set also shows as a chip above the list: tap it to change it, or tap its × to remove it.
Sort and see totals
Tap the sort button at the start of the chips to sort by Last updated (the default), Newest first, Oldest first, Name (A–Z), Job #, Estimate total, Contract Signed Date, Status changed, Start date, or Status (A–Z).
The strip above the list totals the jobs that match. Tap it to show Total jobs, Total estimates, Total invoices, Avg estimate, Avg invoice, and Total squares, and tap it again to hide them.
Move jobs on the board
Tap Board to see one column per status, in pipeline order, with each column's job count and estimate total. Swipe sideways, or tap a column name at the top to jump to it. Tap List to go back.
To move a job to another status:
- Long-press the job, in the list or on the board. On the board you can also tap the card's move button.
- Pick the new status in the sheet that opens. Statuses marked "Archives the job" also archive it.
The move is saved to JobNimbus.
Use saved lists
Saved lists work the same as the dashboard's saved lists. They're shared with the team and saved in roofingBoss only.
Save the current view as a list:
- Set the filters, sort, and layout you want.
- Tap Save as list.
- Enter a Name. Add a Team and a Description if you like.
- Tap Save list.
Your search and Assigned to me stay on this phone. They aren't saved with the list.
Open a list:
- Tap the bookmarks icon at the top of Jobs, or go to More → Saved lists.
- Pick Jobs or Work orders at the top. Search with Name, team, or description.
- Tap a list. It shows the list's filters and the jobs in it, with a count.
- Tap Open in Jobs to apply it to the Jobs tab.
Lists are grouped under Collections, Pinned, and team headings, with a record count on each. Collections can be opened here but are created and edited in the dashboard.
While a list is open on the Jobs tab, its name shows above the chips. Change anything and it shows Edited, with Save changes (updates the list for everyone), Save as new, and Discard. Tap the × next to the name to stop following the list. Your default list opens each time you start the app.
List options. Long-press a list, tap its …, or tap the list's name on the Jobs tab for Open in Jobs, Pin to my lists, Move up and Move down (pinned lists), Open when I visit Jobs, Copy link, Share link…, Edit name and details, Duplicate, and Delete list.
Delete list removes the list for everyone on the team, including anyone who pinned it. It can't be undone.
Open a job
Tap a job. The top shows its number, name, address, status, and type, plus a CompanyCam badge when the job has a CompanyCam project. The quick actions are Call, Text, Directions, Photos (the CompanyCam project), and Email, each only when the job has that information. The first three show as buttons. More holds the rest, plus Open in CRM (opens the job in JobNimbus) and Property page (find the home's public page and record an inspection).
Below that:
- Financial summary: Est. total, Invoice total, Amount due, and Last estimate, with counts of the job's estimates, invoices, work orders, tasks, and payments.
- Job details, Address, Contact, and Custom fields. See Edit a job.
- The job's Work orders, Tasks, Photos & files, Estimates, Invoices, and Payments. Each section has a button to add one, such as New work order, New task, Add photos, New estimate, or Record payment, and each opens with the job filled in.
- Log activity and Activity. See Log a note or a call.
- Open in CRM again at the very bottom.
Pull down to reload the job. When you opened it from a list, the bar at the top (for example "Job 3 of 40") has arrows that step through that list.
Edit a job
Tap a row under Job details to change it, then tap Save. Every change is saved to JobNimbus.
- Job name, Source, Sales rep, Assigned to, and Description.
- Workflow and Status. Changing the workflow asks for a status in the new workflow.
- Schedule: turn on All day for whole days, or set Starts and Ends. Clear removes the dates.
- Address. Tap Directions under it to open your maps app.
Created by, Created, Last updated, and Status changed are read-only.
Contact shows the Primary contact (tap to open them), their Email, and each phone number with call and text buttons.
Custom fields lists the fields that have a value. Tap one to edit it, or tap Show all fields (3 empty) to fill in an empty one. The app remembers that choice.
Create a job
- On Jobs, tap +.
- Under Customer, pick Existing contact and choose a Contact, or pick New contact and enter a First name and Last name.
- Under Job, check the Job name (it fills in from the customer until you change it) and choose a Workflow and Status. Add a Sales rep, Lead source, Assigned to, and Description if you like.
- Under Address, keep Use the customer's address on, or turn it off and type one.
- Under Schedule, add dates if you know them.
- Tap Create job.
A new contact is created first, then the job. Both are saved to JobNimbus. To start a job from a contact, tap New job on the contact's screen.
