Tasks and activity

Check off, create, and edit JobNimbus tasks on your phone, log notes and calls on a record, and browse everyone's activity.

The Tasks tab shows your JobNimbus tasks, grouped by when they're due. Notes, calls, and other activity are logged at the bottom of every job, contact, and work order, and More → Activities lists them all. Everything here is saved to JobNimbus, so it shows up in the dashboard's Tasks and Activities and in JobNimbus.

Choose which tasks you see

The chips under Search tasks, numbers, jobs, people:

  • Mine (the default) or Everyone. When you've picked people in Filters, a chip with their names replaces both. Tap it to go back to Everyone.
  • Open and Completed. Turn on both to see every task.
  • Overdue shows open tasks due before today.
  • High priority.

Filters opens Filter tasks, with Assigned to (Me, Everyone, or Choose… for specific People), Status, Overdue only, Priority, Type, and Date (on Due, Start, Created, or Updated). The app remembers your filters and sort on this phone.

Read the list

Sorted by Due date (the default), tasks are grouped:

GroupWhat's in it
OverdueOpen tasks due before today
TodayTasks due today
This weekTasks due in the next seven days
LaterTasks due after that
UnscheduledTasks with no date
Recently completedCompleted tasks, when you show them

The sort button also sorts by priority, status, start or end date, last update, creation date, number, or title. Those sorts show one list without groups.

Each task shows its title, description, due date, priority, and type. When it's linked to a job, contact, or work order, that name shows under the task. Tap the name to open the record. When none of your open tasks are left, you see "You're all caught up".

Complete a task

  1. Tap the circle next to the task.

The task is completed and saved to JobNimbus. Tap Undo on the message that appears to reopen it. To reopen a completed task later, tap its green check, or open it and tap Reopen task.

Create a task

  1. On Tasks, tap +.
  2. Under Task, enter a Title. Add a Description, and change the Type (it starts as Task) or the priority.
  3. Under Assigned to, change the Owners. It starts with you.
  4. Under Schedule, set the dates. It starts as today, all day.
  5. Under Linked to, pick a Job, Contact, or Work order if the task is for one.
  6. Tap Create task.

New task on a job, contact, or work order creates a task already linked to it.

Edit a task

Tap a task to open it. The top shows its status (Open, Overdue, or Completed), priority, and type, with Share, Copy link, and Open in CRM (opens it in JobNimbus). Links you share open the task for teammates who sign in.

  • Mark complete or Reopen task.
  • Details: tap Title, Description, Type, or Priority to change it.
  • Schedule: tap to set the start and end dates and times, or turn on All day. Clear both dates to take the task off the calendar.
  • Assigned to: tap Owners to change who has it.
  • Related: tap Link job, Link contact, or Link work order to link a record, or unlink one. The record itself isn't changed.

Every change is saved to JobNimbus. When you opened the task from a list, the arrows at the top step through that list.

Log a note or a call

Every job, contact, and work order has Log activity near the bottom.

  1. Pick the kind: Note (the default), Call, Email, Text, Meeting, Voicemail, SMS, or one of your account's own activity types.
  2. Type what happened.
  3. Tap the button, such as Add note or Add call.

The entry is saved to JobNimbus and appears under Activity right away. If it can't be saved, your text stays in the box so you can try again.

Activity shows the record's entries, newest first, with the count in the heading. Tap Load more for older ones, and tap an entry to open it.

Browse all activity

More → Activities lists the notes, calls, emails, and texts people logged in the last 6 months. Automatic JobNimbus entries, such as status changes, show on each record's own Activity instead.

  • Search with Search notes, people, records.
  • Mine shows what you logged. The chips next to it are the most-used types.
  • Filters opens Filter activity: Written by (Only mine or People), Type, and Date.

Tap an entry to see its Message, any Status change, the Primary and Related records it's on (tap one to open it), and Details.
