Contacts
Find, call, and edit JobNimbus contacts on your phone, add new ones, start a job for a contact, and delete contacts.
More → Contacts is the dashboard's Contacts page on your phone. It lists every contact you can see in JobNimbus, and remembers your filters and sort on this phone.
Find a contact
Type in Search name, phone, email, address…. Every word has to match the contact's name, company, email, street, city, state, ZIP, status, type, sales rep, or lead source. For a phone number, type at least three digits. Dashes and spaces don't matter.
- Mine shows contacts where you're the sales rep.
- Filters opens Filter contacts: Sales rep, Contact types, Lead sources, and Date (a Date field such as Created or Updated, and a Date range).
- Each filter you set shows as a chip, such as "Type: Customer". Tap its × to remove it, or tap Clear all.
The sort button sorts by Updated (the default), Least updated, Newest, Oldest, Name A–Z, Name Z–A, Last name, Company, Status, Type, Sales rep, Lead source, City, or ZIP.
Open a contact
Tap a contact. The top shows the name, status, and type, plus Inactive when the contact is inactive. The buttons are Call (pick a number when there's more than one), Text (when there's a mobile number), Email, and Map. More has New job for this contact, Open in CRM (opens the contact in JobNimbus), Property page (find the home's public page and record an inspection), and Delete contact.
Below that:
- Jobs and Activities counts. Tap one to jump to that section.
- Contact info, Details, Address, and Custom fields. See Edit a contact.
- Jobs: the contact's jobs. Tap one to open it, tap Show all for the rest, or tap New job to create a job for this contact.
- The contact's Work orders, Tasks, Photos & files, Estimates, Invoices, and Payments, each with a button to add one.
- Log activity and Activity. See Log a note or a call.
When you opened the contact from the list, the arrows at the top step through that list. If the contact can't be loaded fresh, a banner says so and editing is turned off until you tap Retry.
Edit a contact
Tap a row to change it, then save. Every change is saved to JobNimbus.
- Contact info: First name, Last name, Display name (what JobNimbus shows for the contact everywhere), Company, Email, Mobile, Work phone, Home phone, and Fax.
- Details: Contact type and Status (changing the type may need a new status), Lead source, Sales rep, and Description. Created by, Created, Last updated, and Active are read-only.
- Address.
- Custom fields: tap a field to edit it, or tap Show all fields to fill in an empty one.
Add a contact
- Tap + on Contacts.
- Under Name, enter a First name and Last name. Display name fills in from them unless you type one. Add a Company if there is one.
- Under Contact info, add an Email and phone numbers.
- Fill in the Address.
- Under Classification, choose a Contact type and Status, and a Lead source and Sales rep if you like.
- Add Notes under Description / notes.
- Tap Create contact.
The contact is saved to JobNimbus. If a contact with the same details already exists, the form shows Already a contact? with a button to open it. JobNimbus doesn't allow two contacts with the same display name: if you save one anyway, the form shows This contact already exists, so change the Display name to save a new one.
Delete contacts
To delete one contact, open it, tap More, then Delete contact and confirm.
To delete several:
- On Contacts, tap the select icon at the top, or long-press a contact.
- Tap contacts to select them, or tap All to select every contact in the filtered list.
- Tap Delete, then confirm.
- Tap Done when you're finished.
Large batches are deleted in groups. Tap Stop to finish the current group and keep the rest. Contacts that failed or were skipped stay selected so you can try again.
Contacts are deleted in JobNimbus. They can be restored in JobNimbus under Insights > Classic Reports > Contact Deleted.
