Share a work order
Send a teammate a link, share a read-only summary with anyone, or ask the customer to upload photos.
The top bar of a work order's details has three ways to share it. On a phone they show as icons only.

Anyone on the team who can open the work order can use all three.
Send a teammate a link
Click Copy link, then paste it in a message. The link opens this work order's details. The person has to sign in to roofingBoss to see it.
Share a read-only summary
- Click Share.
- Pick how long the link works: No expiry, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days.
- Click Create share link. The link is copied for you.
Anyone with the link can open the summary without signing in. It shows the work order number, status, type, dates, the job and contact names, the address, the line items with their prices, the total, the Customer Note, and the Internal Note. Costs and margins are never included.
The summary includes the internal note. Read it before you send a share link to a customer.
Copy or revoke a link. Open Share again. Under Active links for this work order, click the copy icon (Copy link) to copy a link, or the shield icon (Revoke link) to turn it off. A revoked link stops working right away.
Share links are saved in roofingBoss only. To see every share link on the account, go to Settings → Share Links.
Ask the customer for photos
Use this when you want photos of the problem before the crew goes out. The same controls appear right after you create a work order.
- Click Request photos.
- Change What should we ask them? if you like. It starts as "Please add photos of what needs attention."
- Click Copy link.
- Paste the link into the text or email you send the customer.
The customer opens the link in any browser on a phone, tablet, or computer, with no sign-in. They add photos and can answer "Anything we should know about these photos?"
- The link works for 14 days and takes up to 20 photos.
- The page shows your question, the work order number, and the address (or the job or contact name when there's no address). It doesn't show prices, phone numbers, emails, or internal notes.
- Photos are saved to JobNimbus and attached to the work order and its job or contact. The customer's note becomes the photo's description, starting with "From the customer:". Photos sent without a note are described as "Photo from the customer". See Files.
Manage photo links. Under the Copy link button, each link shows its question and how long it works, for example "Works until 10/23/2026 · 18 photos left". Click Copy to copy it again, or Turn off link to stop it. Clicking Copy link with the same question reuses the link that's already active instead of making a new one.
Photo links are saved in roofingBoss only. The photos themselves are saved to JobNimbus.
