Feedback
Review reports from the Feedback button, feature requests, QA checks, and checklists in a table or on a board. Admins only.
Feedback & roadmap is where admins work through everything the team sends with the Feedback button: problem reports, feature requests, QA checks, and checklists. Open Sidebar → Settings → Feedback, or open Sidebar → Settings and click Feedback & roadmap under Feedback & QA.
The page has three tabs. This page covers Inbox, where reports arrive. Roadmap and Releases are on Roadmap and releases.
Only admins see the card and can use the page. Anyone else who opens it sees Admins only. While reports are waiting in New, the sidebar link and the card on the Settings hub show a count such as 3 new.
Feedback is saved in roofingBoss only. JobNimbus never sees it.
Read the counts
Four cards sit at the top of the page:
- Total: every report.
- New: reports nobody has picked up yet.
- In review: reports someone is working on.
- Data accuracy (open): Record data and Numbers reports that are New or In review. Watch this one most, since it counts records and totals that don't match JobNimbus.
Filter the reports
Switch between Table and Board with the tabs, then narrow the reports:
- Status (table only): All statuses, New, In review, Resolved, or Archived.
- Type: All types, Record data, Numbers, Schedule, Bug, Design, Feature request, Other, or QA check.
- Page: All pages, or the page a report was sent from, such as Work Orders (4). The pages with the most reports come first.
Click Clear filters to show everything again. The view and filters are part of the page's web address, so you can bookmark a view or send it to another admin.
Set Type to Feature request to see what people are asking for, then link each one to the roadmap. See Link a report to the roadmap. QA check cards come from updates to roofingBoss. See Run QA checks.
Work from the table
The table lists the newest reports first, with Type, Message (the page it came from is under it), From (name and email, on wide screens), When, and Status. Click a row to open the report.
Move cards on the board
The board has four columns: New, In review, Resolved, and Archived, each with its count. A card shows the type, a map icon when it's linked to a roadmap item, how many screenshots it has, the start of the message, the page, who sent it, and when.
To change a report's status, drag its card to another column. The change saves right away. If it can't be saved, the card goes back and you see Couldn't move that card, so it went back.
With the keyboard, press Tab to reach a card, Space to pick it up, the arrow keys to move it, and Space again to drop it. Esc cancels the move. Press Enter on a card, or click it, to open the report.
Open a report
The report shows its type and status, who sent it, the full message, and any screenshots. Click a screenshot to open it full size in a new tab. Below that:
- Email: the sender's email. Click it to write to them.
- Page: the page they were on. Click it to open that page in a new tab.
- Sent by: appears only when an admin sent the report while impersonating the person named.
- Device: the sender's browser and computer or phone.
- Release: appears on QA checks. Click it to open the update that added the check.
- Checklist: appears on checklist cards. See Use checklists.
- Updated: when the report last changed.
Link a report to the roadmap
Every report except a QA check has a Roadmap section. Each report linked to a roadmap item counts as a request and raises that item's priority.
- To link it to an item that's already on the roadmap, pick one in Link to a roadmap item….
- To make a new item from it, click Add to roadmap. The item starts in Backlog, titled with the first line of the report. Size it on the roadmap.
- To remove the link, click Unlink.
Linked by Claude means Claude's weekly review linked the report. Unlink it if the match is wrong.
Change the status or add notes
- Pick a Status.
- Write Internal notes: what you found, who owns it, or a link to the fix.
- Click Save.
Internal notes are for admins only and never shown to the sender.
Comment
Comments are a thread for the admins working on the report.
- Write in Add a comment for the other admins….
- Paste screenshots with Ctrl + V (⌘ + V on a Mac), or click Attach image. A comment can be only a screenshot.
- Click Add comment.
To delete a comment, click the trash button on it, then Delete. The comment and its screenshots are removed for every admin.
Delete a report
Deleting removes the report, its comments, and every screenshot on both. It can't be undone. To keep a record, move the report to Archived instead.
- Click the trash button at the end of the report's row in the table, or Delete at the bottom of an open report.
- Click Delete to confirm.
Use checklists
QA and launch checklists, such as the steps for putting the mobile app in the app stores, can be loaded onto this page as cards, one per step. Ask a developer to load one. Checklist cards have the type Other, steps that are already done start in Resolved, and an open card names its Checklist.
- Set Type to Other and switch to Board.
- Work through the cards in New.
- Drag each card to Resolved once you've checked that step.
Loading a checklist again only adds steps that aren't on the page yet. It never changes the status, notes, or comments on cards you've already worked.
