Sales targets
Monthly targets, pace and things to fix for each salesperson.
Sidebar → Analytics → Targets shows each salesperson's sold revenue and jobs sold for the month against their target, whether they're on pace, and what needs fixing or a follow-up. On the phone, go to More → Targets. Every staff member sees the whole sales team. Only admins set targets, change who's on the sales team, pause someone's flags, or dismiss flags.
Targets, the team list and flags are saved in roofingBoss only. Fixes you make from the job sheet save to JobNimbus.
Your own month also shows on the Dashboard. The Targets item in the sidebar shows an amber number when something needs your attention: your own items, or the whole team's for an admin who isn't on the sales team.
Read the board
At the top, ‹ October 2026 › steps between months. Next to it, a chip says where the month stands: Open · 8 workdays left, Closing Nov 8 · numbers can still change, Closed Nov 8, or Not frozen (see When a month closes).
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Team sold | The sales team's sold revenue against the team target, such as "$412,300 of $600,000 · 69%". It also says when some reps have no target. |
| Jobs sold | Jobs sold against the team target, such as "23 of 30". |
| Workdays left | Workdays left in the month, such as "8 of 22". |
| Need attention | Open items across the team. |
The team target adds up the targets of everyone on the team that month who hasn't left.
The Scoreboard tab has a row for everyone on the sales team, including people with no sales yet:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| # | Rank by percent of revenue target, highest first. Reps with no revenue target come after, by revenue. |
| Rep | Name, with You on your row and notes such as "Counts from Oct 15", "Left Oct 12", "Away until Oct 28", or "Inactive in JobNimbus". |
| Sold revenue | A bar toward the target, with a tick where they should be by today, and the numbers ("$84,000 / $100,000"), or No target. |
| Jobs sold | The same for jobs, such as "5 / 6". |
| Pace | The worse of the two pace badges. Hover over it to read both pace sentences. |
| Last 7 days | Sales signed in the last seven days through yesterday, such as "$31,200 · 2 jobs". Current month only. |
| Needs attention | Open items for that person. Click the number to see them. |
Under the table, Other sales this month lists sales by people who aren't on the sales team, and No sales rep lists jobs with no rep. A line starting "Not counted:" says how many jobs signed that month are now in Lost or were deleted, and their value.
Click a row to open that person's sheet: both pace sentences, their Needs attention items, Jobs counted in October (each job, the day it was signed, its value and status), and their target history. A struck-through job no longer counts, such as "Lost: not counted". Expand a job's line to see what changed on it and when.
The History tab lists the last 12 months, ending last month: team sold and jobs against target, and how many reps hit their revenue target, such as "4 of 7 reps hit revenue". Expand a month to see whether each rep hit their target, or click it to open that month's board. Months that never froze are worked out live and tagged Not frozen.

How a sale counts
- A job counts in the month of its Contract Signed Date, in Eastern time.
- Its value is the approved estimate total. Until an estimate on the job is approved, the job counts at $0, and its line says "Counted at $0: no approved estimate".
- Jobs now in a status in the Lost stage, and jobs deleted in JobNimbus, don't count. They're still listed, struck through, so you can see why.
- Archived jobs count, as they do on the Dashboard. So do jobs whose status isn't in any workflow stage.
- The job's current Sales Rep gets the credit, until the month closes. If the rep changes, the job moves to the new rep and its line says "Rep changed from Jane Doe on Oct 20". Credit is never split.
A job without a Contract Signed Date doesn't count, even in a sold status. The rep gets a Needs attention item to fill it in.
Pace
Pace compares what someone has sold with where they should be by today.
- Workdays are Monday to Friday, in Eastern time, counted through yesterday. Today counts as a workday left. Holidays count as workdays.
- Where they should be is the target spread evenly over the month's workdays.
- Pace isn't judged until 5 workdays are done.
- Someone who joins mid-month has a Counts from day. Their target for that month is cut to the share of workdays from that day, and their pace starts after 5 of their own workdays.
| Badge | Means |
|---|---|
| Hit target | At or over the target. |
| On pace | At or ahead of where they should be by today. |
| Slightly behind | Behind, but not by enough to count as Behind pace. |
| Behind pace | Under 85% of where they should be by today, and short by at least 10% of the month's target (at least one job for Jobs sold). |
| Too early to tell | Fewer than 5 workdays done. |
| Away | An admin paused them, for example for a vacation. Pace isn't judged. |
| No target | No target for the month. |
| Hit, Missed (82%) | A past month: they hit the target, or how much of it they reached. |
For example, on Wednesday, October 21, 14 of October's 22 workdays are done, so a rep with a $100,000 target should be at $63,636. At $55,000 they're Slightly behind. At $50,000 they're Behind pace: under 85% of $63,636, and $13,636 short, which is more than 10% of the target.
Each metric also has a sentence that spells it out, such as "Behind pace. $70,000 so far. By today the target pace is $95,455 (14 of 22 workdays × $150,000). $10,000 a workday for the 8 workdays left reaches $150,000."
Needs attention
roofingBoss checks every hour for things to fix or follow up on, and flags each one. The Needs attention tab lists the flags by person, team members first, then others, then Unassigned, in three groups:
- Fix these so your sales count: job details that keep a sale from counting right.
- Customers waiting on you: jobs that need a follow-up.
- Pace: behind pace this month.
Each item says what to do and links to the job. Fix it there, and the item clears at the next hourly check.
| Item | Shows when | Clears when |
|---|---|---|
| Behind pace on sold revenue (or jobs sold) | They're Behind pace this month, after the first 5 workdays. Not while they're paused. | They're back to Slightly behind or better. It also closes when the month ends. |
| Signed, but no Contract Signed Date | The job's status is in the Sold, In Production, Accounts Receivable, or Completed stage with no Contract Signed Date, 1 full workday after the status changed. Status changes older than 45 days are left alone. | You fill in Contract Signed Date. |
| Counted at $0 | A job signed this month, or last month until it closes, still has no approved estimate 3 full workdays after signing. | You mark the signed estimate Approved. |
| Contract signed Oct 14, status still Estimate Presented | A job signed this month, or last month until it closes, is still in the Lead or Estimating stage 1 full workday after signing. | You move the job to a sold status, such as Signed Contract. |
| Contract Signed Date is in the future (Nov 30) | Right away, on a job that isn't Lost and was created in the last year. | You fix the Contract Signed Date. |
| Inspection was Oct 14; job is still Appointment Scheduled | A Lead job's Roof Inspection Scheduled Date was 2 full workdays ago or more, and its status hasn't changed since. Inspections older than 30 days are left alone. | You change the job's status. A note alone doesn't clear this one. |
| No status change or logged follow-up in 16 days | An Estimating job has gone 14 days (calendar days) without a status change, a logged note or call, or a new sales rep. Jobs quiet for more than 90 days are left alone. | You log a note or call, or update the status. |
A few rules apply to every item:
- Waits counted in workdays skip weekends.
- Only active, unarchived jobs are checked. An item belongs to the job's current sales rep, or to Unassigned when there isn't one.
- Before a new Fix these so your sales count item appears, roofingBoss re-reads the job from JobNimbus to make sure it's real. So one can show up an hour or two after the problem starts.
To reset a follow-up clock, log a note or call on the job or on its customer, either in roofingBoss (Add an activity) or in JobNimbus. The activity needs written text. Automatic entries such as status changes don't count, and calls and texts made only in Follow Up Boss aren't seen. Changing the job's status or its sales rep also restarts the clock.
Dismiss an item (admins)
- On Needs attention, click Dismiss on the item.
- Type the reason, from 3 to 300 characters, and click Dismiss flag.
A dismissed item stays dismissed while the problem lasts. If the problem is fixed and comes back later, it shows up again. Reps can't dismiss items.
To see what was dismissed or cleared, turn on Show dismissed and resolved (last 30 days). Items read like "Dismissed by Jane Doe: on vacation" or "Cleared Oct 18".
When a month closes
A month stays live while it's the current month and for 7 days after it ends, so late paperwork still counts. Its chip reads Closing Nov 8 · numbers can still change.
On the 8th of the next month (Eastern time), roofingBoss re-reads the month's jobs from JobNimbus and freezes the board: Closed Nov 8. If JobNimbus data isn't current that day, it waits and closes as soon as it is. Until then the chip reads Not frozen ("Closes as soon as JobNimbus data is current").
After the close, the board doesn't change. Later changes are listed instead: a banner such as "3 changes since this month closed" opens the jobs that were added, removed (Lost, deleted, or their date moved or cleared), changed in value, or moved to another rep, with before and after.
An admin can click Re-close month and add a note. That freezes the month again with the current numbers and keeps the earlier version. The chip then reads like Re-closed Nov 12 by Jane Doe. Admins also see whether the frozen numbers matched JobNimbus: "Matched JobNimbus at close" or "Differed from JobNimbus by $4,200 (2 jobs)".
Months that ended before sales targets started are Not frozen ("Before targets started"), and their numbers stay live.
How fresh the numbers are
roofingBoss keeps its own copy of your JobNimbus jobs and activities, refreshed every 15 minutes, or within seconds when JobNimbus webhooks are set up. The line under the header says how fresh it is, such as "JobNimbus data as of 10:15 AM · Flags checked 10:05 AM". Workflows and the sales team refresh from JobNimbus once a day.
When that copy isn't current, roofingBoss stops opening and clearing items, so nobody is flagged on old data, and an amber alert says so:
- "Flags are paused: the last JobNimbus sync failed. Open flags are shown as of 9:05 AM."
- "Stale-estimate checks are paused: JobNimbus activities aren't current."
Admins get a link to Settings → Integrations → JobNimbus to check the sync.
Why numbers differ
| Screen | Why it can show a different number |
|---|---|
| Dashboard Total Jobs and Total Estimate Value | Include jobs now in Lost, and only jobs your JobNimbus user can see. Targets leaves out Lost jobs and counts every job. |
| Performance and the Analytics Overview | Count jobs by the day they were created, and use the latest estimate when none is approved. Targets counts by Contract Signed Date, at the approved estimate. |
| Phone Sales leaderboard | Counts every job with a Contract Signed Date in the period, including jobs now in Lost. |
| A closed month | Frozen at the close. Later changes show as changes since the close. |
The "Not counted:" line under the Scoreboard shows how much of the difference is Lost and deleted jobs.
Set targets (admins)
Each metric has a team default, and any rep can have their own target. A target applies from its month onward until someone changes it.
- On Targets, click Set targets.
- In "Targets for … and later", pick the first month the targets apply to. You can pick the current month (or last month, until it closes on the 8th) through 12 months ahead.
- In the Team default row, enter Sold revenue ($) and Jobs sold.
- To give a rep their own target, type it in their row. An empty cell shows what they get now, such as "Team default: $100,000".
- To change one month only, check Only this month. The month after keeps what it had.
- Add a note if you like, such as why a target changed.
- Click Save.
Each cell's menu has Set value and No target, and a rep's cells also have Use team default. With No target, pace isn't judged for that metric.
Revenue targets are whole dollars from $1 to $100,000,000, and job targets run from 1 to 1,000. A month that has closed can't be changed. Changing the current month changes everyone's pace right away, and the dialog warns "This changes October's pace for everyone now."
Every change is kept. History in the dialog lists them, such as "Oct 2026 · Jane Doe · Sold revenue $120,000 (was team default) · Travis Lockett, Oct 3 · 'Ramp after training'". Each rep's sheet shows their own history.
Manage the sales team (admins)
Everyone active in JobNimbus on the Sales Manager profile joins the sales team automatically when roofingBoss checks JobNimbus each morning. People it adds after the first check count from the day they're added. Admins add or remove anyone.
Click Sales team to see each person's source (From JobNimbus profile or Added by an admin), their Counts from day, and their state: Active, Removed Oct 12, Inactive in JobNimbus, or Away until ….
- Add someone: click Add person and pick them. Counts from starts on the 1st of the current month. A later day cuts their target for that month.
- Remove someone: in their ⋯ menu, choose Remove from team…, set Left the team on (today, or an earlier day), add a note if you like, and click Remove from team. They're listed as Left from that day. The daily check never adds them back. Restore puts them back, including people the daily check removed because they're Inactive in JobNimbus.
- Pause someone: set Pause flags until to a day, for a vacation. Until then their pace shows Away and no new items open for them. Clear ends the pause.
- People made inactive in JobNimbus are removed automatically. They stay removed if they're made active again, until an admin restores them.
- A changed JobNimbus profile never removes anyone. The person gets a warning such as "JobNimbus profile is now Production Manager". Remove them if they no longer sell.
Recent changes lists every add, removal, and pause. A rep's sheet also has Edit targets, Pause flags until…, Edit Counts from, and Remove from team. Under the Scoreboard, Add to team adds someone from Other sales this month.
Set it up and check it
The first time, click Load from JobNimbus to read your job workflows and the sales team. It needs the JobNimbus sync to have finished its first copy, and a JobNimbus job date field titled Contract Signed Date. The page shows its progress while it reads the jobs.
The menu next to Sales team has:
- Run checks now: check Needs attention now instead of at the next hour.
- Refresh from JobNimbus: reload workflows and the sales team.
- Compare with JobNimbus: check the month's jobs and value against JobNimbus's own Contract Signed Date search.
On the phone
More → Targets shows the same numbers, badges, and items for Blue Sky staff, with your own card first (including its pace sentences) if you're on the sales team. Tap a rep's row to see their jobs, and tap a job to open it. Pull down to refresh. The phone is read-only: admins set targets in the dashboard. See Check sales targets.
