Filter jobs
Narrow the Jobs list by status, stage, sales rep, job type, dates, lead source, tags, or any job or custom field.
Filters on the Jobs page appear as chips under the search box. They apply to the table, the Kanban board, the calendar, and the stats header at the same time. For date presets and saved lists, which work the same on every list, see Lists and filters.
Search for a job
Type in Search jobs..., then press Enter or click Search.
To open one job you already know, global search is faster. Picking a job there opens it directly. See Find your way around.
Add, change, and remove filters
- Click + Filter.
- Pick a field. Quick filters are at the top. Job fields and your custom fields are grouped by category below them. Type in Search fields... to find a field by name.
- Set the value in the editor that opens.
Most choices apply as soon as you click them. Typed text and numbers apply when you click Apply or press Enter.
- Click a chip to change it.
- Click the X on a chip to remove it.
- If you close a new filter without choosing anything, its chip goes away.
- Clear all removes every filter and the search, including the default Contract Signed Date filter.
Every chip must match for a job to show. Inside one chip, picking several values matches any of them.
Use the quick filters
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status | Check one or more statuses. Statuses are grouped by stage. |
| Stage | Check whole stages, such as Lead, Estimating, or Sold. The chip shows how many statuses that covers, for example "Stage: Sold (4 statuses)". |
| Sales Rep | Pick one person. This matches the job's Sales Rep, not its assigned team. |
| Job Type | Pick one workflow. The Status and Stage lists, and the Kanban columns, then only show that workflow's statuses. |
| Date | Pick a Date field, then a range. Hidden in Calendar view. |
Pick statuses a stage at a time
In the Status editor, each stage name has its own checkbox.
- Check a stage to select all of its statuses. Uncheck it to clear them. Other stages stay as they are.
- A dash in the box means some of the stage's statuses are selected.
- If you've typed in Search statuses..., the stage box only affects the statuses you can see.
Statuses you pick here get a Status chip of their own, separate from any Stage chip.
Filter by a date
- Add the Date filter.
- Under Date field, pick a field. Standard has Created Date, Start Date, End Date, Status Change, and Updated. Custom has your custom date fields, such as Contract Signed Date.
- Under Match, pick Between, Before, or After, then a preset or specific days.
A preset like This Month rolls forward, so a saved list built on it stays current. See Lists and filters for the presets.
Filter on any job field or custom field
Below Quick filters, + Filter lists job fields (such as Lead Source, Tags, Job Name, City, ZIP, Estimate Total, and Start Date) and every job custom field. Custom fields are grouped as Text Fields, Number Fields, Date Fields, Dropdown Fields, and True/False Fields.
Each field gets a Condition and a value:
| Field type | Conditions | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Contains, Does not contain, Is, Is not, Is empty, Is not empty | Type it, then Apply |
| Dropdown | Is any of, Is none of, Is empty, Is not empty | Check values. Select all and Invert help with long lists. |
| Number | =, ≠, >, ≥, <, ≤, Between, Is empty, Is not empty | A number, or Min and Max, then Apply |
| True/False | Is Yes, Is No | None |
| Date | Between, Not between, Newer than, Older than, Not newer than, Not older than, Is empty, Is not empty | A Preset range or Date range, or an Amount and unit, such as 30 Day(s) |
You can add several conditions, even two on the same field.
People fields. Text custom fields that hold people, such as Project Manager(s) or Crew Leader(s), show a list of JobNimbus users instead of a text box. With Contains or Is, a job matches if any of the people you pick is in the field.
Filter by lead source
Lead Source is a dropdown filter. Type "lead" in Search fields... to find it.
When two lead sources share a name, each one shows its ID, such as Referred (ID 1) and Referred (ID 20). That lets you filter on one of them, select the matching jobs, and move them to the other in Bulk Update.
Filter by tag
Tags is a dropdown filter. Type "tag" in Search fields... to find it.
- Is any of shows jobs with at least one of the tags you check. Is none of hides them.
- Is empty shows jobs with no tags, and Is not empty shows jobs with any tag.
The list holds every tag used on your jobs. The first time, it can take a few seconds to fill. Until then, type the tags under Values (comma-separated) and click Apply. Tags match without regard to capitals, so "VIP" also finds jobs tagged "vip". To tag a job, see Tag a job.
Share or revisit filtered jobs
Filters are part of the page address. The browser's back button returns to your previous filters, and a copied link opens the same filtered list for a coworker. To keep a filter set in roofingBoss, save it as a saved list.
