Notes and history

Each product has a history panel with your team's notes and a record of its changes. Open it from Sidebar → Estimating → Products: click the ⋯ menu on a product's row and choose History.

Notes and history are saved in roofingBoss only. JobNimbus never sees them, and customers can't either.

Use notes for supplier quotes, why a price changed, or anything the next person pricing this product should know.

1. At the bottom of the panel, pick a category: General, Procurement, or Pricing.
2. Type in Add an internal note (procurement quotes, price rationale…).
3. Click Add note.

The note shows your name, the category, and the time. It also saves the product's material cost and price at that moment (Snapshot: …), so later readers know what the note referred to.

To change or remove a note you wrote, click Edit or Delete under it. You can't edit or delete other people's notes.

Notes and changes are listed together, newest first. Each change shows what changed and when:

A tag on each change says how it was recorded:

• app: someone edited the product in roofingBoss, or clicked Sync now. Their name shows under the entry.
• sync: roofingBoss found the change on its hourly check of JobNimbus, for example after someone edited the product in JobNimbus.

To record a change made in JobNimbus without waiting for the hourly check, click Sync now at the top of the panel. You see one of:

• Recorded changes in history: new changes were found and added.
• Already up to date with JobNimbus: nothing changed.
• Product added to history. Future edits will be recorded.: this is the first time roofingBoss has tracked this product.

Last synced under the button shows when roofingBoss last checked.

History starts when roofingBoss first tracks a product, so changes made before then don't appear.
